Barbara Ann Corcoran

Barbara Ann Corcoran was a speaker, investor, and businesswoman from the United American. In 2001, she founded The Corcoran Group in New York City. She later sold the business to NRT for $66 millions. Then, shortly after, she exited from the company. One of the original "Shark" investors, Corcoran has appeared in every season of ABC's Shark Tank until today. Since February of 2020, she had signed 53 deals on the show, the largest being a $350,000 investment for 40 percent of Coverplay. Corcoran was born in Edgewater, New Jersey, the second child of 10 from a working class Irish Catholic family. Florence Corcoran's mother was a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father. He was constantly changing jobs throughout Corcoran's entire life. Her family sometimes depended on free food delivery from a nearby grocery store. Corcoran remembers her father, one who would drink too much and behaved towards her mother in a manner that was disrespectful and condescendingly, especially after he'd had a few drinks. Corcoran struggled throughout her schooling, later learning that she had dyslexia. Corcoran entered high school at St. Cecilia High School Englewood after attending a Catholic primary school. Corcoran graduated from Leonia High School with a diploma in English, despite not completing several classes in her freshman years.
