Her work has earned three Olivier Award nominations. In the year 2015, she joined the actors in the fifth season of the HBO show Game of Thrones as Septa Unella and also appeared as an ensemble member in the 2012 film adaptation of Les Miserables and 2018 British psychological thriller Winter Ridge in a primary role. Waddingham has been nominated for the Golden Globe Award.
